Blackstone Chinese Pillar Base

This hand-carved blackstone pillar base is a modern reproduction inspired by the architectural forms of traditional Chinese temple and garden design. The octagonal base imitates a low waisted table with shot cabriole legs. Above that is a stylised drum with nail detail. The tringles hanging down imitate a draped cloth decorated with foliate detail. 

Made in Hebei, China, this hand carved base features stylised scrolls, and lotus petals.

Though newly made, the stone has been carefully finished to replicate the weathered character of antique originals. Designed for outdoor durability, it is frost-hardy and stable€”ideal for use as a pedestal for urns or sculptures, a low garden seat, or simply as a decorative architectural feature in a courtyard or landscape.
