Green Yaobian Glaze Vase

This handmade Chinese vase is produced in Jingdezhen and finished with a distinctive green copper yaobian glaze. The firing process creates variations in colour, tone and surface, giving each vase an individual finish.

The rounded body has a tall neck and is decorated with a small applied mythical creature on either side. Each piece is handmade by skilled craftspeople using traditional techniques passed down through generations.

Jingdezhen has been an important centre of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD and was home to the imperial kilns during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).

Due to the handmade nature of these pieces, slight variations in colour and glaze should be expected.
