This handmade Chinese vase is produced in Jingdezhen and finished with a distinctive green copper yaobian glaze. The firing process creates subtle variations in colour and tone, while the finely crackled surface gives the glaze additional depth and character.
The vase has a generous rounded body rising to a slender neck with a gently flared rim. Its simple form allows the rich turquoise-green glaze and natural variations created during firing to take centre stage.
Each piece is handmade by skilled craftspeople using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Jingdezhen has been an important centre of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD and was home to the imperial kilns during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).
Due to the handmade nature of these pieces, slight variations in colour and glaze should be expected.
