Its gently faceted form is finished in a beautiful green yaobian (kiln transmutation) glaze, displaying flowing tones of jade, turquoise and emerald with subtle variations that emerge naturally during firing. Yaobian (窑变), meaning "kiln transmutation", refers to the extraordinary colour changes that occur as the glaze reacts to heat and atmosphere within the kiln. Every firing produces subtle differences in tone and pattern, making each planter a genuine one-of-a-kind piece.

Each planter is hand-thrown on the potter's wheel before being glazed and fired by skilled artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Jingdezhen has been China's foremost porcelain-making city since 1004 AD, with its imperial kilns producing some of the world's finest ceramics for centuries.
