Green Yaobian Glaze Lizard Vase (Copy)

This handmade Chinese vase is produced in Jingdezhen and finished with a distinctive green copper yaobian glaze. The glaze varies from soft turquoise and blue-green to warmer earthy tones, with a finely crackled surface created naturally during firing.

The vase is decorated with small stylised lizards applied around the shoulder, adding an unusual sculptural detail to its simple bottle-shaped form. The unpredictable nature of the yaobian firing process creates variations in colour, tone and surface, making each vase individual.

Jingdezhen has been an important centre of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD and was home to the imperial kilns during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).

Due to the handmade nature of these pieces, slight variations in colour and glaze should be expected.
