Our Indian hundi pendant lamp evokes memories of the days of the Raj in the 19th century. These iconic bell jar glass pendant lights radiate light through your home. The glass is hand blown by artisans in northern India. These glass lamps are known in India as Handis or Hundis. This version has a threeway fitting giving a more traditional homely feel.

Originally these lamps were made in Europe and exported to India as lighting for large homes and palaces in the 19th century candles or oil lamps would have been placed inside with a glass lid to prevent soot from marking the ceiling. Many survived on the tall ceilings unlike their European counterparts which were taken down and smashed when electricity arrived.

Each piece is wired & tested by our team in the UK. Please note glass may have small imperfections.

If you require a longer chain or flex or would like to create a customised handi chandelier, please contact us.
