This bronze Buddha is in the pose of Bhumisparsha mudra and seated on a lotus throne.
Bhumisparsha means "Touching the earth" and symbolises Buddha's enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. The mudra is always from a seated position with the right hand resting on the knee, fingers pointing to the ground.
This is an excellent museum quality reproduction piece cast in bronze in the Tibetan style using traditional techniques with a gilded finish.
