This striking flambé glazed baluster vase dates to the late Qing Dynasty, circa 1890, and is a fine example of Chinese ceramic artistry. The elegant form, with its flared neck and rounded body, provides the perfect canvas for the dramatic glaze that defines the piece.
The richly variegated flambé finish displays flowing tones of deep crimson, violet, and vibrant blue, created through a complex high-temperature firing process. The glaze cascades organically across the surface, producing unique, painterly effects that ensure no two pieces are ever alike. Subtle pooling and natural irregularities in the glaze add further depth and character, highlighting the unpredictability and beauty of this traditional technique.
A highly decorative and collectible piece, this vase works equally well as a standalone object or as part of a curated display of Chinese ceramics.
