Handcrafted in the historic porcelain city of Jingdezhen, this elegant ginger jar lamp celebrates one of the most enduring motifs in Chinese decorative art. Each porcelain jar is individually hand thrown and painted by skilled artisans before being carefully converted into a table lamp using quality antique brass fittings.

The design depicts graceful carp swimming amongst lotus leaves, seed pods and aquatic plants. In Chinese culture, carp (or koi) symbolise prosperity, perseverance and success, while the lotus represents purity, harmony and renewal. Together, they create a timeless composition that has adorned Chinese porcelain for centuries.

The crisp cobalt blue decoration is painted by hand onto a luminous white porcelain body, ensuring that every lamp has its own individual character. Equally at home in a traditional country house or a contemporary interior, it makes a striking bedside, console or living room lamp.

Each lamp is professionally wired in the UK with a 2-metre twisted brown flex, antique brass fittings and a UK 3-pin plug, ready for use.
