This antique cypress wood storage bin comes from Gansu Province, China, and dates to the 19th century. Tall and simply constructed, it has a warm natural finish with the marks, wear and variations in the timber acquired through generations of use.

Originally made as a practical household storage vessel, its tall, narrow proportions make it particularly well suited for use today as an unusual umbrella or walking stick stand.
