These striking painted Chinese doors from Qinghai province blend traditional pin and post Chinese doors with bold contemporary artistry. Painted in the style of Tibetan tiger rugs€”long considered symbols of protection and spiritual power€”these doors feature a vividly stylised tiger sprawled across both panels. Its striped body, intense gaze, and curling tail are hand-painted in black, gold, and white against a richly weathered red ground, creating a powerful visual contrast.
