    Product Description & Specifications

    Title

Gilt black lacquer Chinese exportware was made for wealthy members of the British Georgian upper class in the Qing dynasty. This intricate and detailed work was made for export to Britain when Chinoiserie was all the rage in the early 19th century. Black lacquer export sewing kits and games boxes were also made.

These pieces are a fragile piece of history and are usually found damaged. This tray is in exceptionally good condition, has minimal wear on the gilt painting and has been checked over in our workshop and small restorations made to stop the aging process.
