This Indian harpa box is made from hand carved teak wood. It's from the border areas of Southern Rajasthan and Northern Gujarat. These boxes were multifunctional and often used as spice or masala boxes. They were also used for lime or betel-nut storage and occasionally used in the markets as a cashbox.

A similar example can be seen in "Folk Art & Culture of Gujarat: A Guide to the Collection of the Shreyas Folk Museum of Gujarat" by Jyotindra Jain - figure 229.
