This sturdy utilitarian antique Indian door is a wonderful option for a more understated room or hallway. Its timeless, elegant design is enhanced with layers of old paint and a patina which adds interest without being too eye-catching. These doors are from Gujarat in India and date to the 19th century.

Doors like this come from the homes of wealthy merchants called havelis. There is a lot of re-development taking place in India due to a rapidly growing middle class. Older buildings are being replaced by modern houses and architectural pieces like this are being sold to antique dealers

Although this is a heavy piece, Indigo Antiques have a trained delivery team to bring it into your home. We can provide assembly advice to your builders however we will need to discuss your hinge and hanging requirements before arranging delivery. Hinges may incur a small additional charge depending on your specifications.
