This beautifully hand-carved teak lintel was salvaged from a historic building in Gujarat and dates to the 19th century. Once positioned above a doorway as a protective and decorative architectural element, it features flowing floral scrollwork and a pair of stylised peacocks—motifs commonly associated with prosperity, grace, and auspiciousness in Gujarati craftsmanship. The surface retains an appealing time-worn patina, highlighting the depth and age of the carving.
As a reclaimed architectural fragment, this piece offers enormous decorative potential. Its long, arched form makes it ideal for display above a fireplace, mounted over a doorway, or simply hung as sculptural wall art. The natural teak tones add warmth and character to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
