This old wooden parath bowl is from the Himalayan valley of Kulu. Paraths were used as mixing bowls for making chapati and paratha and are found across India.
Paraths are always carved from a single piece of timber and in this case, it is made from well patinated cedar wood, a staple wood used in the Himalayas. This piece has been specifically selected for its excellent old patina which comes from frequent use over many years.
