Description

This striking Indian blanket chest is crafted from reclaimed teak, incorporating beautifully weathered carvings salvaged from old door frames and architectural panels from Rajasthan and Gujarat. Although not antique, it carries the rich character of historic materials, with layers of worn paint and intricate detailing that give it the appearance and charm of a much older piece.

The front is composed of a patchwork of hand-carved panels, each with its own unique motif, creating a highly decorative and textured surface. The lift-up lid reveals a generous internal storage space, making it both practical and versatile. A fitted chain supports the lid when open, protecting the hinges and adding to its functionality. Ideal as a coffee table or placed at the end of a bed, this piece combines rustic beauty with everyday usability.
