This exquisite Indian archway is from Kutch and painted with beautiful pastel tones. It is part of a larger baradari, a 12 door pavilion with excellent acoustics used mostly for private concerts and courtesan dancing. The doors allowed a cool fresh breeze during the hot Summer months. Bara in Urdu/Hindi translates to 'twelve' and the word Dar translates to 'door'.

Although slightly faded, the original paintwork of parrots, lions, and elephants can still be seen amongst the original carving making this beautiful piece a truly unique and impressive addition to your home.

Assembly: This item comes disassembled for easy access to your home. We can provide assembly advice and instructions however we are unable to offer an assembly service outside Wiltshire. The longest component is the horizontal beam.
