Tan Leather Trunk From Shanghai - 19thC

This charming leather trunk is in great condition for over one hundred years old. It is stamped with Shouxing, the god of longevity. He is also called Nanji Laoren or the old man of the South Pole and he is associated with Sirius the Canopus star of the South Pole, i.e. the star Sirius. 

As well as various stamps, it has its original brass locking plate and handles. Being very lightweight and sturdy, they make a great decorative piece or even coffee table.
