Original Painted Prayer Table - Choksar - From Tibet - 19thC
Painted on three sides with glass doors on one side to store precious scrolls.
A Choksar is a prayer table used in monasteries & homes. Original antique Tibetan cabinets and Choksar are now quite rare and there are many reproduction pieces made in China coming into the market.
Tibetan furniture is mostly constructed from cedar or pine and painted in traditional Tibetan colours, they are often decorated with floral or tantric designs.
