Brass bound Miltary Chest - Perfect for use as a coffee table.Military chests were originally used by officers of the British Indian Army to carry their kit and personal possessions whilst on tour.As they had to with-stand a lot of punishment in transit, they were exceptionaly well made.Constructed from Teak, Rosewood or Jackfruit wood they were made to order by skilled carpenters. Depending on rank, these were re-enforced with corners of brass or iron. Our pieces are mostly from the 19thC and early 20thC
