These four way pickle dishes were originally used to serve food or condiments. Today, they are often used as a unique small storage solution for keys, change etc. or as planters or desk tidy. A utility item that was used daily by families.
True to Indian form, the bottom of each dish is stamped with a crown seal stating 'pure aluminium' which is rather odd as these dishes are made from brass plated tin.
