This lamp has been converted from a vase which was hand-made on the potters wheel in the traditional way. Finished with dark walnut wood it would be suitable for both contemporary & traditional homes. This lamp is truly striking and would be an iconic addition to any room.
This style of Chinese porcelain vase is called Yuhuchunping literally translating as "Pear shaped Vase" and is a style originating in the Tang dynasty (608 - 917) for use as a wine vessel. Later the shape was refined and became a classic vase style also known as a "Trumpet Mouth Vase." The rim is slightly flared with a straight neck that broadens at the ends and a bottom heavy body.
