This reproduction Chinese vase is made in the Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) style. It is a faithful reproduction of a vase in the Liaoning Provincial Museum in Shenyang. This beautifully hand decorated vase features eight cartouches showcasing scenes of pine trees, lotus ponds, bamboo and plum blossoms. The style of painting is sophisticated and fluid. The tiger head handles are playful yet strong.
This vase is hand made traditionally on the potters wheel, it is then decorated by hand using cobalt blue before firing. All our reproduction Chinese porcelain is made in Jingdezhen which has been the capital of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD. The famous imperial kilns have been sited there since the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD).
