These reproduction Chinese blue & white temple jars are crafted in the traditional Chinese style. The painting depicts a series of mythical creatures.

Qilin were creatures with parallels to unicorns and were said to herald the birth or death of a wise sage or great ruler. On the opposite side a dragon and phoenix circle one another. The dragon was used by Chinese emperors to instill their power and strength and is possibly the most famous Chinese symbol. Auspicious, with control over water, rain, hurricanes, and floods the dragon grants good luck to those who are worthy enough. The phoenix is also considered an omen of good luck.

This beautiful vase is handmade and hand painted by skilled artists using traditional techniques learned from their family passed down through generations. All our reproduction Chinese porcelain is made in Jingdezhen which has been the capital of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD. The famous imperial kilns have been sited there since the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD).
