These reproduction Chinese blue & white octagonal candlesticks are copies of a pair of Ming dynasty Yongle candlesticks that sold at Bonhams for £3 million. Original candlesticks can be found in the Beijing Palace Museum, Guangdong Museum, Shanghai Museum & Idemitsu Museum of Arts in Tokyo.

Each panel is decorated with display beautifully proportioned geometric designs and floral patterns. The designs were inspired by 13th century Islamic metalwork & the original candlesticks this is based on would have been produced in the early 15th century.

All our reproduction Chinese porcelain is made in Jingdezhen which has been the capital of Chinese porcelain production since 1004 AD. The famous imperial kilns have been sited there since the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD).
