This kang table is from Shanxi province and dates from the late 19th century. Kang tables were used on either side of the kang, a raised stone platform in wealthy Chinese homes used as a bed. Traditionally the kang was heated in winter. The original red lacquer & paintwork still remains and it has beautiful floral carvings

These make great tables for the end of a bed or for a small T.V or stereo system. With three useful drawers in the front to stow away remotes & cables.
