This Mongolian sideboard has original black lacquer  which is hand painted with flowers and vases.
The brass fittings are original to the piece which dates from the early 20th century.

Constructed from poplar wood, this beautiful sideboard has 6 drawers and 6 doors which makes it perfect for use in a dinning room or kitchen.

Originally used by nomadic people for storage of clothes, bedding or grain, they would have had few possessions so this might also have been used as  an altar cabinet for family ancestor worship.
