An original painted teak prayer table from Rajasthan with turned lacquered legs. Dating from the middle to late 19th century, these type of low Indian prayer table were known as Bajots and are found in many styles around India.

The joinery on the top is of a higher quality than usual Indian craftsmanship utilising a step joint.

This piece is beautifully painted with a repeating floral pattern of excellent quality, which would suggest this particular piece came from a wealthy home.
