Framed Japanese Woodblock Print Oban by Utagawa - 19th Century

This beautiful 19th-century Japanese woodblock print, in the traditional ōban format, depicts an elegantly dressed woman standing on a wooden veranda overlooking a tranquil coastal landscape. Associated with the Utagawa school, the composition combines the graceful figure drawing of Japanese ukiyo-e with the atmospheric landscape traditions of the Edo period.

The Utagawa school was one of the most influential artistic traditions of 19th-century Japan, celebrated for its depictions of beautiful women, actors, landscapes and scenes of everyday life.

Presented in a simple black wooden frame with a generous white mount, the print is ready to display and would make a beautiful addition to a collection of Japanese art.
