This charming hand-carved teak bowl, known as a parath, was traditionally used across India for mixing chapatti and paratha dough. Sculpted from a single block of teak, it takes a distinctive turtle form with gently curved sides and a smooth, worked interior.
The rich patina and tool marks speak to generations of use, while the turtle shape—often associated with longevity and stability—adds symbolic character to this practical 19th-century domestic object.
