This exquisitely carved pair of teak wood Indian processional horses once served a ceremonial role in a temple or festival procession. Retaining their original polychrome finish, the pair reflects the bold, symbolic colour schemes of 19th-century Indian folk art€”most notably red, yellow, and black accents that signal divine or protective significance.
Set upon plinth bases with carved hooves and bridles, each horse is full of quiet expression and timeworn charm. Though designed for movement and display, they now offer sculptural presence in interiors€”whether used as striking standalone accents or as a dramatic pair. These horses are special and we don't often see pieces of this quality any more.
Each horse is sold separately £1,750 each
