These beautifully patinaed 19th century Indian window shutters hail from the town of Bikaner in Northern Rajasthan, India. These shutters are solid rosewood, suggesting they would have come from a very wealthy haveli. Painted using natural mineral colours these window shutters would have been used internally in a majestic Indian haveli (merchants house). Much of the paintwork has faded leaving only patches and a beautiful dark wood grain beneath which we have waxed. The central column boasts intricate carving details. These shutters will make a totally unqiue piece of wall art.
