Infused with bold character and historic charm, this antique Indian green painted chest from Gujarat makes a striking coffee table. Handcrafted from solid teak bound with iron and studded with brass adornments it showcases traditional Indian carpentry at its finest. The weathered green patina is achieved through years of natural wear.

Originally double the height, this chest been reduced in height to be able to be used as striking coffee table. Heavy iron strapping reinforces the structure while adding to its antique appeal, with original hasps and loops still intact. Also fitted with an internal chain to steady the lid when open. This piece likely once served as a dowry or merchant chest, safeguarding valuables behind its weighty wooden lid. Whether used for storage or simply as a conversation-starting centrepiece, it brings both beauty and functionality to any interior setting.
