These beautifully carved teak dog gates originate from Gujarat and were traditionally placed in front of the main entrance doors of havelis to keep animals out while allowing airflow and visibility. Made from richly patinated teak wood, they feature elegant hand-carved floral motifs at the top and striking sunburst panels at the base — a design symbolic of energy and protection in Indian decorative arts.

With their graceful curved tops and original iron fittings, these antique gates embody both function and artistry. Today, they make distinctive and decorative garden gates or can be mounted as unique pieces of architectural wall art, indoors or out.
