Teak Candlestick Made From An Old Takhat Leg

These distinctive candlesticks have been handcrafted in Rajasthan from reclaimed teak legs taken from traditional Indian takhats - low daybeds that have been a familiar feature of homes and courtyards across northern India for centuries. Once used for sitting, sleeping and welcoming guests, these sturdy daybeds were built from dense hardwoods and designed to last for generations.

Each leg has been carefully repurposed into a unique candlestick, retaining its original turned profile and beautifully aged painted finish. Layers of worn red, black and natural wood tones reveal decades of use, creating a rich patina that simply cannot be replicated. The original iron candle spike has been fitted into the top, making it suitable for pillar candles while preserving the authentic character of the reclaimed timber.
