Anglo-Indian Campaign Side Chest - 19th Century

This 19th century Anglo-Indian style campaign side chest is constructed from richly patinated teak and finished with its original brass strapwork and corner mounts. Compact, characterful and extremely practical, it was designed for mobility and durability—reflecting the traditions of British campaign furniture made for travel across the subcontinent.

The interior reveals a well-organised arrangement of compartments surrounding a deeper central cavity, offering versatile storage for smaller valuables and personal items. A sturdy iron chain prevents the lid from overextending, while recessed iron carrying handles on the sides emphasise its portable military aesthetic. Its small footprint makes it perfect for use as a side table, lamp stand or bedside chest.
