This antique brass puja bell dates to the 19th century and would have been used during Hindu worship in homes and temples across India. Traditionally rung at the beginning and conclusion of prayers, the resonant tone of the bell is believed to purify the surrounding space and focus the mind during devotional practice.

The bell is surmounted by a finely cast devotional figure seated in prayer, hands joined in namaste. Raised on a slender, turned handle, the figure adds both symbolic significance and sculptural charm, transforming this ritual object into a striking piece of religious folk art.
