Chinese cabinets are made with exceptional craftsmanship. The styles on 18th and 19th century pieces are often based on Ming designs that have a beautiful simplicity. They used for storage of silks, bedding and textiles. Camphor wood was the preferred wood of the wealthy, the smell of camphor discouraged moths and other insects, which is why it was used all around Asia and the east to make cabinets and trunks .
