Chinese Red Lacquer Furniture
Chinese red lacquer cabinets and chinoiserie furniture was usually given as wedding gifts in pairs. Original pieces were not usually decorated on the sides and the best quality were made from elm. Many of our lacquer is usually decorated with coloured lacquer designs or gold leaf. Colours such as green lacquer, blue lacquer & grey lacquer didn't exist until the 1980's. Most pieces date from the Qing Dynasty and originally came from Shanxi or Hebei provinces.
Our genuine antiques are restored by our artisan team and are always dated. Pieces date from 250 years old to pieces made up from old solid wood. This collection contains some reproduction pieces.
