Vintage Indian Stone Plant Pot - Ca 1920's

These stone pots were used in India for day-to-day cooking in a process known as 'dum cooking' where the pot is sealed and food cooked over a long period of time resulting in a strong infusion of flavors without the loss of liquid.

Beautifully hand carved these stone pots would make great natural planters as well as desk tidies and storage pots.
