Known as spring benches, these pretty Chinese benches used to be seen outside shops and small restaurants in China and are used by both staff and customers to enjoy the fresh air. Constructed from elm, this one is from Shanxi Province. It is carved with a beautiful cloud motif and dates to approximately 1900.

Please note that the legs of all these benches are splayed.
