This decorative chest of drawers is handcrafted from reclaimed teak salvaged from old buildings in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Although not an antique, the timber itself carries history — visible in the layered paint remnants, worn surfaces, and richly textured grain that give the piece its authentic, timeworn character. Each of the ten drawers is framed with carved detailing, adding depth and interest while celebrating traditional Indian woodworking techniques.
The soft, distressed finish reveals subtle variations in tone, from chalky whites to hints of original pigment beneath, enhancing its rustic appeal. Iron ring handles complement the aged aesthetic, while the generous arrangement of ten drawers provides practical and well-proportioned storage. Internally, the drawers reveal the warm natural mango wood, offering strength and durability for everyday use.
Environmentally conscious as well as visually striking, this piece combines sustainability with craftsmanship. It works beautifully in relaxed interiors — from country and coastal schemes to eclectic or bohemian spaces.
