Provincial Late Ming Style Blue & White Porcelain Vase

This elegant blue and white porcelain vase is a finely made provincial-style reproduction inspired by Late Ming dynasty ceramics. The softly rounded baluster form is decorated with hand-painted floral motifs in gently varied tones of cobalt blue, set against a luminous white ground. The design draws directly from provincial wares produced during the late Ming period, where freer brushwork and expressive decoration were favoured over the highly controlled style of imperial porcelain.

The surface displays subtle tonal variation in the glaze, with delicate pooling and softness that closely echo antique examples. Floral sprays and curling stems are painted with a relaxed, fluid hand, giving the vase an understated charm and a distinctly historical feel rather than a crisp, modern finish.

Porcelain has been made there continuously since 1004 AD, and the famous imperial kilns were established in the city during the Ming dynasty (1368–1644 AD).
