Indian mixing bowls like this one were known as paraths and were used for making chapatti & paratha breads. They are found across India and are always made from a single piece of timber, stone or marble. Marble paraths are far less common. This one is pink marble and is from Rajasthan in Northern India and dates to the mid century.
