This wonderfully carved shrine would have been set into a wall and used to house the family's favorite deity in a Hindu household. At two hundred years old it's in remarkably good condition and has some visible repairs on the reverse. In the past we've used these as extremely decorative wall mounted shelves.

Two carved parrots on pillars flank a classic Mughal arch. Various layers of paint are visible showing this piece has had a long and colorful life. A true piece of cultural history.
