This Painted Mihrab Mirror is handcrafted from reclaimed teak, inspired by the pointed architectural arches of Mughal and North Indian design. The recessed, mihrab-shaped mirror opening gives the piece a distinctive architectural quality.
The frame retains layers of vivid blue paint, naturally worn and distressed to reveal darker tones and areas of timber beneath. Marks, variations and imperfections in the reclaimed wood are an integral part of its character.
Its slim proportions make it ideal for a hallway, bedroom or smaller wall space, while several can be grouped together to create an attractive architectural display. This is not an antique, but a newly made piece using reclaimed teak salvaged from old Indian buildings, giving historic timber a new purpose and making it an environmentally friendly choice.
