This popular Komodo dragon design has been achieved by traditional ikat weaving on a backstrap loom and is roughly sixty years old.
Each area has its own distinctive motifs and patterns as well as color preferences. The difference in the designs and colors represent the variety that exists among the ethnic communities, customs, and beliefs of the people of Flores.
Dyed by hand using natural dyes, of indigo using strobailanthes cusia. The dyes are from sustainable sources.
