This carved teak tika box is from the Banswara tribal region in Rajasthan. Unusually, it depicts a tiger and is carved from a single piece of teak wood.

These boxes were used for storing the red powder used for marking the forehead of Hindus known as a tika mark or Bindi. The perfect gift for a collector of village folk art, each one is unique.
