Indian mixing bowls like this one were known as paraths and were used for making chapatti & paratha breads. They are found across India and are always made from a single piece of timber, stone, or marble. Marble paraths are far less common.
This antique mixing bowl is hand carved from solid pink marble and is from Rajasthan in Northern India. It dates to the early 19th century, circa 1910 and has a rich patina that only comes from frequent use over many years.
